Combine CBD and Meditation for Improved Wellbeing

Joia Oil meditation

Meditation is a practice common to many religious, philosophical and secular communities. It allows the mind to feel calm so you can settle into the present moment. Traditional practice is to sit down with your legs crossed on a meditation cushion, but it can also be done in a variety of ways, such as while walking or just before sleep.

But what is meditation? Essentially, it’s a mindful practise wherein you allow your thoughts to settle for a moment and view them objectively while remaining in full awareness. This is true daily mental hygiene!

Maintaining a balance in today’s modern world is difficult. Our attention is pulled left, right and centre to what seems like a never-ending list of tasks. But all is not lost. There are ways to expand our awareness while creating a space in which we can feel safe and at peace.

Meditation brings together a variety of methods that enable you to become a more aware and open person. It is, however, a learned skill that takes a lot of work and attention but learning to listen to your body and mind lights the way to a more serene and confident inner journey.

Meditation: Appreciation of the Present Moment

There’s a common misconception that meditation is the practice of trying to not think of anything, but that is not the case. It’s about learning to observe our thoughts and take a moment of intimacy with ourselves so that we can be aware and present in this precise moment.

It can occur at any time of the day, sitting or standing, resting or walking by stopping for a few minutes to reconnect with the present moment. Through meditation, we begin to become aware of the functioning of our body and mind, so we can gradually move towards serenity.

We often consider meditation a sign of worldly disconnected existence, yet it is almost the exact opposite. It is a sacred time when a person can genuinely reconnect with themselves. All the benefits of this process are gradually and naturally reflected in the body, mind and soul.

As the spiritual master Thich Nhat Hanh said, “Meditation is not to escape from society, but to come back to ourselves and see what is going on. Once there is seeing, there must be acting. With mindfulness, we know what to do and what not to do to help.

Meditation Develops the Alpha Waves of Happiness

Scientific studies have shown the existence of different wave frequencies in the brain associated with different types of consciousness and activity. According to one study, Meditation promotes the development of alpha waves that reflect a peaceful state of the brain.

An Ancient Tradition

Meditation is a way for people to connect with their minds and direct their thoughts in a less scattered and more productive way while breathing and repeating. Countless cultures have seen the benefits, which has enabled this practice to spread worldwide.

By meditating and following regular rituals day after day, you’ll be able to notice a difference in how your attention reacts to certain situations. Your activity during the day will become more present and energetic whilst also bringing a peaceful and calm aura to your day.

At Joia, we want to help everyone find balance and happiness through practices like meditation and our products.

Our advice: A few drops of CBD, such as Tears of Joia oil at 5% or 15% in CBD, in the evening before going to bed or after a workout can facilitate muscle relaxation and recovery after a good session. You can also use a CBD-infused body lotion to provide softness to the skin while facilitating the regeneration of the body’s energy.
